Have you checked out the first metaanalysis on https://www.covid19hg.org/ ? I cant open it to see. But I Wonder if they find Any biomarkers related to rh-negative.
YEAH, I ENDED UP HERE WHILE TRYING TO FIND OUT WHY MY USMC DOG TAGS ONLY HAVE “O” WITHOUT RH FACTOR. I THOUGHT I WAS O-, BUT NOW AM CONFUSED BECAUSE OF THIS. HAVEN’T FOUND AN EXPLANATION ANYWHERE. I KNOW O-NEG IS THE UNIVERSAL DONOR TYPE, BUT MY TAGS WITH “O” AND NO RH FACTOR, DOES THIS MEAN I CAN ACCEPT ONLY O TYPE AND IT DOES NOT MEAN MY BLOOD TYPE? I KNOW “O” NEG OR POS CAN ONLY USE “O” TYPE?
When I went in the Navy in 1962 my dog tag said blood type was A, no plus or minus and until 2017 when I almost bled to death internally a couple months apart, I always thought I was A+. Thank GOD they tested my blood or I would have died from lack of blood and getting the wrong transfusion. I don’t know why the military does that. I now carry a card in my wallet that says I am A Negative (A-). I’m thinking about a bracelet.
My last birthday my wife got me a 23andme DNA test. Needless to say I have been very disappointed in the results and made my complaints known to the people running 23andme. Before my DNA test I pretty much knew where my ancestors came from and roughly what percentages I was from information passed around among family members on the mother’s and father’s side of our family. Both my mother and father were RH negative and the family tree on my mother’s side has members coming from Guernsey. Nothing in the 23andme info says anything about my RH negative blood, relatives originating in Guernsey or even Basque. The reply from 23andme about my DNA and other problems I found that were totally incorrect in their analysis was they basically didn’t think it was of any value information wise that I am RH negative so they don’t bother. Personally, I feel something dramatic has happened in the recent past of human evolution for RH negative to suddenly pop into existence. I suppose if RH negative exposed itself as a horn in the middle of the forehead we’d get more info and research regarding RH negative. I have ALL the RH negative traits and maybe if my L6 had been on my forehead 23andme and other scientific organizations would look into the questions we RH negative people have. I’m just disappointed the vast majority of info I find about RH negative (this is a good site) isn’t very informative. I AM A negative. When my wife pays good money for a DNA birthday present, I’d like the test to tell me where I got that RH negative from. Most likely, the multitude of other DNA tests available won’t give me any additional information than the response I got from 23andme. Oh well……..
