A Bam City study suggests this.
Three-hundred ninety nine individuals from nearly 3000 clients referred to the rehabilitation clinic from 2005 to 2008 participated with complete consent in the study. The highest frequency belonged to opium addicts(85.6%) and the most prevalent addiction type pertains to opium consumption via smoke inhalation (58.2%). The probability rate of AB negative blood type compared to other blood types among the addicts was 6.07 fold the control group.
Due to an easy access to opium, the prevalence rate of consuming other drugs is lower in Bam City. The relative frequency distribution of addiction among blood types AB+, AB- and Rh may be because of a higher sympathy toward addiction or more interest toward addiction withdrawal or the higher rate of presence of such individuals in the region in the aftermath of Bam earthquake, on which the genetic and other factors affect. It seems essential to conduct more precise researches in this regard.
So is there any other information available backing this up?
So far there is not much to be found. Other than Dr. D’Adamo calling O and AB blood types “high risk for substance abuse:
The O profile includes:
“monotony-avoidance leads to risky behavior”
as well as something shared with AB: “imbalance of the neurochemical dopamine”
More to come …

Well I do have to say my mother struggled her entire life with nicotine addiction she was ab negative I also am ab negative I have never had a struggle with addiction. And I have had my fair share of partying days back in college I never had a problem putting anything down when I was done I was done. My father type A negative same thing he decided one day he was done smoking when he was 20 years old Never Smoke another cigarette again. I was never a nicotine user myself I tried smoking I didn’t like it but alcohol and opiates and things like that I just never got addicted it just really wasn’t a problem for me to put anything away. I don’t know anybody else really like me actually other than my father who quit smoking at the age of 20 and never touched another cigarette and my mother was so frustrated with that fact she couldn’t figure out how he could just quit. I think it’s more genetic than it is blood type that’s my opinion. I have heard there is a gene that makes you less prone to addiction and I feel like I inherited that Gene from my father. Because it’s not like we didn’t drink or anything like that because you know socially of course we did and every once in awhile heck yeah I’m when to go to the bar every once in a blue moon but I don’t have alcohol in my house on a regular basis cuz I don’t drink it everyday and drugs I just never had a problem you know their prescription ran out I was done. Stuff like that I don’t know. And I can honestly say no one in my immediate family brother sister mother father ever had a problem with addiction other than my mom and cigarettes so I think I disagree with the study we’re all Rh negative. Or did you figure that out when I said my mother was a be negative and same parents for my siblings were all from the same mom and dad. In fact I’m looking at my grandparents they didn’t have addiction problems either and they were Rh negative all of them both sides so I think it’s genetic in my opinion possibly
