A mum of six, ages 59, 58, 56, 54, 53, 39. Four girls, two boys, my first, and last. One girl lies all the time. One steals as often as the chance arises. One does both. One won’t make a move without another sister telling her to. One won’t stop telling her what she should do. One son’s been to prison seven years and would kill. One would never physically harm a fly. You’re telling me what l already knew for the past fifty-sixty years. They all carry my genetic background. And two husband’s genes, one (late husband) who used to steal to live, and one who lied for the same end. I’ve spent their lives analyising this conundrum, and not statistically either, but in my face daily. I know the sameness, and the crafty tricks of DNA, which can dredge from centuries ago, or mix and match a modern style you least expected. I don’t need an armchair analyst for that!
