…what would it be?
I have been thinking for quite some time about this one, because I have always had the desire to share something with my readers that everyone can benefit from. But after reading hundreds of quotes, none stood out in terms of being meaningful.
Until last week.
Many of us have had ups and downs throughout life, that we are sometimes afraid of the ups knowing the feeling of dropping from those heights/highs.
So here is what I have been reading which has changed much of my approach on things in general:
“Do today what you’ll be thankful for tomorrow!”
I believe in making my decisions from within. But I have always felt a desire to have at least one guideline to make it easier in case I get “un-grounded”. Usually, when I read quotes, the longer I look at or think of them, the more meaningless and generic they appear, but the longer I look at and think about this one, the more it starts to mean to me.
Is there one specific piece of advice you have been given, read or thought of yourself which has impacted you positively? Care to share?
I have counselled a lot of people throughout my career and often hear them say ” why me?” ” why did this have to happen to me?” and similar sayings. My answer is always the same ” why not you?” ” why should things happen to others but not to you?” so when I feel sorry for myself I look at the myself in the mirror and tell myself stop looking at what has happened and be grateful for the things that have never happened.
I absolutely love this one and it reminds me of another one I have heard before: “Things are never so bad that they cannot get worse”.
I would have guessed that you are A negative. I have been reading up a lot on statement analysis lately and though there are statements which are dead giveaways, much depends on predispositions. Your writing style is very telling to me. It is about what you pay most attention to and what you leave out. And I am not surprised to see an A negative therapist. It seems like a natural thing to fall into.
I am A- btw 🤔 Are you forgetful since child hood?
Not really. I remember moving to a new house when I was 2 and my first day in Kindergarden. And some of the accidents I had around those ages. Anything that stands out I vividly recall.
One of my favorites:
“We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.”

Hi, I was given some advice that is very hard to follow. The reason for this is because I have always been the type of guy who rushes in to save someone that is in danger & I always wish that I could change the way people treat each other & our earth. The advice was “It is not my need to change the world & all of it’s life. The world is exactly as it is supposed to be with all if it’s good & bad as it has been, is, & will be”. That wasn’t what I wanted to hear.
When I was in BUD’S (Basic Underwater Demmunitions SEAL training) no, I didn’t make becoming a SEAL but they were the finest examples if humanity that I have ever met, yes they were cocky ass holes as well but still better than everyone else. One of their sayings is “The only easy day is yesterday”. That is true in all of life. Sadly, most don’t see or think it through & quit at everything. The only true laws that we should follow are nature’s laws. The world is hard & people forget about it & get lazy & expect others to give them what they want. I hope as a species, that us none monkey people can remember this & come through history stronger & more dominate on this planet.
One other thing, I’m 59 & A negative. I didn’t learn about the difference between the monkey people & us until I was 55ish. I would of liked to know this when I was much younger, it would of helped me understand some things better, hopefully. I never fit in with the masses yet they were always attracted to me, without any effort from me. I have always felt out of place around all people. I now wish that I could of looked for none monkey people, so that maybe I could of felt comfortable somewhere. Since we live mostly around monkey people, I’m sure we pick up their bad habbits, & might all act like them idiot sheepeople with no regard if anything except for themselves.
Thank You for your forum & I hope that I didn’t write to much & my grammar isn’t to bad.
The good old Golden Rule:
Do as you would be done by.
It sounds trite – it’s a cliché – but aren’t certain sayings trite / clichés because they are so fundamental that they immediately strike a chord, and are therefore repeated often?
I’ve lived my life according to this one and that’s repaid me.
I’m B-. I have aspergers and the golden rule taught me about this empathy that we’re supposedly so short of.
Yes, a very good way to live. Sadly it seems that many have never heard of it or don’t know what it means but more likely, they just do not care how they treat others.
Very true! Help out “future you”.
I am an O negative Irish and Jewish….I find it’s best to deal with other blood type Os….although the O positives do act more like fun loving monkeys. O negatives like me though resilient can get pretty depressed being only 7% of the population and dealing with crazy blood type As with their O.C.D….and the kooky B’s with the A.D.D….
WHere did you get the B/ADHD association? If anything, indicators show low ADHD among blood type B people.
There was correlation between ABO blood type gene and ADHD in children. The risk of ADHD is increased in the presence of alleles O and A, but the risk is reduced in the presence of allele B.
[Correlation between ABO blood type gene and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in children].
What do you think of that study, Mike? If I read it right, they only had 96 test subjects – hardly a representative sample.
I am B- and have ADD (without the hyperactivity). My son is B+ and also has ADD, as has his father. I seem to attract people with B+ blood, a disproportionate number of my friends have it! They don’t APPEAR to have any symptoms of either ADD or ADHD, but I think we’re generally an eccentric bunch. Not really in a good way…
I think I have ADD worse than anyone I know. I am A-. Yes, this was a small study. But I want the person claiming type B is typical for ADHD to at least back up his claims with at least one study. Even a small one would do.
Have you had adhd all your life or is it adult on set? There’s a syndrome that a fetus gets in vitro from lack of proper oxygen resulting in developmental complications in the brain. There are numerous health problems that are consistently similar in large countless rh negative people.
It could have something to do with Toxoplasmosis as well.
I too deal with depression. When I was younger, I was able to deal with it better, age has just made it harder, like everything else. The way the monkeys act is very taxing on the soul & patience. I am A negative.
I am a negative. All my life I have always felt that I was different than most people. I was relieved to finally know the reason why.
I am older and would love to learn more about a negative traits.
Hi Debra, I am A negative myself & have known that for quite a while but didn’t know about all of this other stuff until recently, maybe 6 or 7 years now. There is a lot of info but be careful, some of it is BS. I have decided that speaking with A negative people would probably be helpful. Sadly, when you connect with people on the internet, you don’t always get what you are looking for. There are a lot of sheepeople out there who don’t speak the truth. If you are interested, we can chat & hopefully we will be able to tell if each other are sincere or not.
Hi Mike, I sent a long winded reply to you for a comment. I only see replies to individual people’s comments. Was my first comment just to long or did it not make enough sense, I tried to keep it short. I can get a little wordy sometimes.
Sorry about that. I just re-opened commenting and sifted through 100s of unapproved ones. You are right, I did read and approve the shorter ones first and skipped the longer ones. 🙂 But I will get to and through them all.
Hi Mike, Thanks. Not meaning to rush you, just checking if I had done it wrong.
Thanks Again,
Guy
Hi I’m Pennie I get a lot of people that complain about there life. I like the quote “Your life is what you make of it no one can change but you”.
“Don’t go against the grain… your unconscious movement n intent is always best for smoothest inevitable outcome.” I didnt mean to be impulsive, but after the decision making process if your initial direction was left n its efficient n reasonable stick to left. To me it’s almost like swimming against the waves.
There are different types of waves. The energy of the world is something we cannot go against. The waves of those confused themselves and allowing themselves to be (mis)lead by others… those we need to stand still against. Not necessary swim against anything. But just be.
