The association of ABO blood type with the risk and severity of COVID-19 infection

Background: There is conflicting data in the literature about the association of ABO blood type and susceptibility to COVID-19 infection. Moreover, very few studies have examined the effect of blood type on severity of COVID-19 infection. Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center analysis of adult patients with COVID-19 infection who were hospitalized between March 8th to July 31st, 2020 at a regional tertiary care hospital.
