I hate to look things up. The deeper I get involved with the scientific community, the more I realize the lack of desire to heal people in the medical industry. It is about keeping you alive, but not making you better. Healing would mean loss of a patient. Instead, I prefer to ask the ones I believe to care. In this case the members of People with Rhesus Negative Bloodtype and followers of @rhesusnegatives on Twitter.
What have you learned to help when suffering from allergies?
In my life, I have had them and went through 2 years of weekly injections which did nothing.
I feel better in certain locations.
Costa Rica was probably where I felt best.
I believe it is a mix of psychosomatic and exposure to allergens triggering this. When it rains, for example, I am getting more allergic reactions. Try and hot climate in general seems good for me. Ocean, not lake. I am wondering who else here can help me give some input.

I suffer from chronic sinus issues and always feel better in the summer. I tell people I get more sinus headaches when it rains and they tell me I am wrong…that the rain stops the allergens from floating around so I should feel better when it rains. I live in Vancouver BC which is just across the border from Seattle and it rains ALL the time. My face puffs up and my forehead almost looks Romulan …sorry- non Star Trek followers may have to look that up. My Dad was the same..bad sinuses run in our family. The rain can feel like the sky is pressing down on your head…or as my Aunt used to say “Like I’ve got too many brains”.
Whenever I go to Hawaii or Las Vegas it clears up….as I recall Greece and Spain were also fine.
I take Tylenol Sinus when the headaches get bad. I have had the odd migraine which just finishes me. I hate taking pills, even otc ones…lately I’ve found a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil on a hot facecloth breathing in through the nose helps. Don’t place directly on your face though because the oil burns. Even better with both peppermint and tea tree. Clove also helps. A hot cup of lemon ginger tea with honey is good too.
Decades ago my rhino allergies were so bad I only had clear nasal passages x2 weeks a year; also suffering from overuse of nasal spray which exasperates symptoms.
After prayer an unusual leading culminated in taking vitamin supplements for the first time.
I began with ‘high doses’ of vitamin C, vitamin E, and B complex. This seemed to clear it all up within a week or so.
I continued the regime for about 3 years with success.
Then decided to test it.
I stopped all supplements and the allergies returned with a fury in a few weeks.
I returned to the supplements, adding more, and never had such furocious allergies, only mild periodic short spurts.
Agreed rain makes it much worse. Ragweed pollen travels miles in rain. Zyrtec has saved my life. Hawai’i, and hot dry places are best for me.
My allergies cleared up a lot when I got into the work of people like Dr Klinghardt. I did overall heavy metal/ chemical detoxes. For sinuses, it is most often fungal (so antibiotics can make worse). I did neti washes, and sprayed things like colloidal silver, oreganol, clove etc. Also having my wisdom teeth cavitations done helped as that is a slow leak infection into your brain and body (my face deflated too).
I am a medical scientist and ex med student, so I agree that consciously and unconsciously, the system is designed to keep you as a patient, chronically ill (that’s why I dropped out of med school). These days the world is pretty toxic and it’s not so cheap to try to stay healthy, and can be a lot of work.
There is also a worldwide deficiency in bioavailable copper (see the work of Morley Robbins) and iron overload (eg iron fortification is insane, anemia is more a copper problem). Copper/ iron have inverse relationship. Copper is a brilliant natural antihistamine! But you can’t just take it alone as supplement.
Candida/ fungus is also now a big problem for most, I use stuff like oreganol to help that.
My allergies now are mostly gone, some minor skin stuff. Best wishes.
Over-populated areas create more pollutants which can irritate and cause over-sensitivity to many different allergens. Most people except those who suffer with hay fever will benefit by going either to the mountains, trees or oceans where they can breathe fresh, unpolluted air when they can. Unfortunately for hay-fever sufferers the best place is where there are no trees or plants. Food allergies and intolerance to certain foods could be your own body reacting to things that are not good for you to eat or preservatives and chemicals in the food. Try eliminating certain foods from your diets. Everyone is different so what works for one may not work for someone else. I personally cannot tolerate certain fruits and most vitamin C and E, yet do not get a lot of colds or have skin problems. We are all unique so let your body tell you what is good for it and change where you can. Perhaps a little bit of what you fancy may actually be your body’s way of talking to you!
I am Rh 0 Negative…I grew up on Perdido Bay in Pensacola, Florida and never had allergies, never was sick, never had a fever, and never had any cavities…we were in excellent health…The first winter that my father moved us to Alabama, I spent time in the ER having an asthma attack…this was my first rude awakening to ever being sick…Looking back, I feel that where we lived played the biggest role in keeping us healthy…
Eat local honey from your area and it WILL cure your allergies…
