I don’t like true crime, violence, legal or medical dramas.
I like comedy, romance and historical pieces. I need my escapism to be mostly lighthearted.
I think basically RH negatives are always inquisitive and want to find out as much as they can about things that interest them. Crime involves looking for answers and trying to understand what makes people do things that are not acceptable to others. I am the opposite of Laurie as I have very little interest in romantic movies or books as they are not reality. I hate war movies and most sci-fi unless it is realistic. I do enjoy suspense and crime. Maybe it has to do more with our personal lives and as Laurie said the need to escape into make believe may be stronger for some than others
I suppose I do enjoy some “make believe” as Catherine puts it as the reality of our world, especially now, can be a bit hard to take! I do spend a lot of time searching for the truth in our world, so I guess I don’t mind if my entertainment is lighthearted. I also love to laugh and Lord knows we need that now more than ever. However, I do love history in all it’s forms, and while I realize some liberties must be taken in novels or 2 hour movies, I nonetheless find it frustrating when the history is not accurate. My daughter and I watch the Goldbergs and I got mad that they portrayed Live Aid as happening in the fall, not the summer! She teases me for that. 🙂
